If the sentence is in the present tense ( teenwordige tyd) then use ....

WORD DEUR

but

if the sentence is in the past tense ( verlede tyd) , then use


IS DEUR

If you have a sentence with EK in it then the EK changes....

Ek skop die bal= Die bal word deur my geskop.

Die seun het die bal geskop.= Die bal is deur die seun geskop.


If their is a time word in the sentence like GISTER, then rememebr STOMPI.

Die seun het gister die bal geskop = die bal is GISTER deur die seun geskop.

ANY time word komes right up early in the sentence , arter the verb.

Byvoeglike naamwoorde include....


 1.describing the noun - normal byvoeglike naamwoorde

2. trappe ven vergelyking - comparing 

3. intensiewe vorm - potblou 

The grade 5 children need to be able to spot if it is a normal describing word as in 1. or if it is comapring  as in 2.

Comparing adjectives ( trappe van vergelyking) have a die before them or an as in the latter part of the sentence. If you read the sentence for understanding, you will see that their is a comparison.



trappe van vergelyking are like 3 steps

step3 ( this is the DIE word and ends in STE)

          step 2 ( this is the AS word and ends in ER)

step1 ( this is the given word)


Learn these and then check if you can USE them correctly!!!!

Parents, I can not emphasise enough, how much the children need to learn these well. Grade 6 and 7 etc build on what they learn in grade 5. If you know that oud become ou then you will know it for matric!!!!!

Indirekte Rede - grade 5

Inderekte Rede

Here you are going to change the DIRECT speech into INDIRECT speech.

How?

Take the sentence and  write the first bit up to the se(^)nexactly the same.

example:

Sally se(^) :" Ek eet n lekker roomys."

Sally se(^) DAT (1) - first change

1. add a DAT after the se.

2. Change the voornaamwoord ( pronoun)

Change a girl = sy
change a boy =hy
change EK =  either sy or hy depending on if it is a boy or girl

then

3. The VERB jumps to the end of the sentence.

so....... Sally se dat sy n lekker roomys eet.


THE VERB  comes at the end except if it is a HULPWERKWOORD like sal, wil, kan etc.
 The hulpwerkwoord jumps to just befor the last verb.

verbs are interesting .
they can .... either

1. jump to the end
2. jump just before th last verb as in a hulpwerkwoor
or
3. jump to the end and join up with the verb as a skeibare werkwoord.
